On October 15th, 2009, over 30 students had the opportunity to be mentored by 17 industry professionals, many of whom were UNC Charlotte alums at the second Industry Mentoring Event sponsored by Shaw.

Approximately fifteen students experienced one night of homelessness on September 17th to raise money for the Uptown Shelter and increase awareness of the thousands of people who are homeless in Charlotte. 

On September 12th, the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) hosted a service project with Habitat for Humanity as part of the new leadeship and service initiative, IMPACT.
