3. Email Outage on Friday Oct 16   [Mon, 12 Oct 2009 08:50:57 -0400]
Information & Technology Services will be performing maintenance on one of the servers that hosts Faculty and Staff email accounts on Friday evening, Oct. 16, 2009. If your account is housed on the affected server, you will not be able to access your email during the outage.  If you send mail to someone whose account is on the affected server, they will not be able to login to retrieve their email until after the outage ends.  The email outage will begin at 6:00pm and will continue until approximately midnight.

Subject:    Server Maintenance/Application Outages – Sun., Aug. 9, 2009
 
ITS will be performing work on several of the University’s database servers on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009.  From 7:00am until approximately 10:00am, the following services will be unavailable:

  • HelpDesk Online
  • PWManager
  • Resource25/Web Viewer
  • Citrix
  • WebFocus

7. Critical Updates for Internet Explorer 08-03-2009   [Sun, 02 Aug 2009 10:29:56 -0400]
Microsoft has released a critical update to address a security issue in Internet Explorer which needs to be implemented outside the normal update schedule.  Our ITS Security group has worked with Desktop Support to prepare a push of these updates using Big Fix.   The update requires a workstation reboot.
 
Monday morning, August 3rd, clients will receive a message stating the update is ready to run and that their machine will need to be rebooted after the updates are loaded.  After the updates are pushed, clients may select an option allowing them to delay rebooting their machine for up to 3 days.  However, on Wednesday morning, August 5th, machines that have not been restarted will reboot automatically.

8. Brief Email Outages During Off Hours - July 18 – 26, 2009   [Fri, 17 Jul 2009 08:57:27 -0400]
Information & Technology Services will be performing maintenance on one of the servers that hosts Faculty and Staff email accounts over the next week.  In order to more efficiently maintain this server, the email accounts must be moved to new space on the server.  During the time that a client’s account is being moved, he/she will not be able to log in.  Moves will take place over the weekend and after 5:30pm during the work week.  No changes to your account or the way you access it will occur as a result of this work. PLEASE NOTE:   While your account is being moved, you will not be able to check your email. For a complete list of ITS outages and alerts, please visit the ITS Message Center at <https://secure.uncc.edu/MessageCenter>.
