Former Charlotte 49ers golf standout Trevor Murphy tied for 18th in the second qualifying stage of PGA Tour Qualifying School to earn a spot in the Q School Final stage. The final stage will be held Dec. 2-7 at Bear Lakes C.C. in West Plam Beach, Fla.

The field has been set for the 35th annual Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic and for the third straight year the field includes Charlotte 49ers standout Corey Nagy. Nagy, a three-time honorable mention all-America, has participated in the event the last two years. In addition to the individual tournament, the event includes a Titleist Long Drive Contest and a PING Putting contest, both of which Nagy has won in the past.

Junior Will Golden shot a final round of three-under par 69 and senior all-America Corey Nagy finished tied for third as the Charlotte 49ers tied for sixth at the Gifford Collegiate at CordeValle.

Senior all-america Corey Nagy used a string of five straight birdies to post a six-under par 66 and lead Charlotte to the best round of the day at the Gifford Collegiate at CordeValle. The 49ers shot 13-under par, the day's best round by three strokes, to climb into fifth place entering tomorrow's third and final round.

Charlotte 49ers sophomore Olafur Loftsson shot two-under par 70 and senior all-America Corey Nagy added a one-under par 71 to lead the 49ers into ninth-place after one round of the Gifford Collegiate at CordeValle. The format for the Gifford Collegiate at CordeValle calls for six player line-ups with the top five scorers counting.

Charlotte 49ers senior all-America Corey Nagy (Charlotte, N.C./Vance H.S.) earned his second Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Performer of the Week honor of the season while teammate Andy Sajevic (Fremont, Neb./Fremont H.S.) was tabbed as the A-10 Rookie of the Week for the second time.

Charlotte 49ers senior all-America Corey Nagy shot a four-under par 68 to charge into a tie for 4th-place and lead the 49ers to a 6th-place finish at the Aldila Intercollegiate at Council Fire Golf Club. Nagy finished the three-round event at five-under par 211 to notch his second top five finish of the fall. Nagy won the individual title at the VCU Shootout. Charlotte finished sixth as a team following the final round of +10, 298.

Charlotte 49ers sophomore Olafur Loftsson shot a five-under par 67 in round two of the Aldila Scenic City Intercollegiate to take the individual lead into Tuesday's third and final round at nine-under par, 135. Charlotte is in fourth place in the 17-team field with a two-round total of four-under par. Wichita State and host Chattanooga share the team lead at 12-under par at Council Fire Golf Club.

The Charlotte 49ers golf team opens play Monday at the Aldila Scenic City Invitational at Council Fire Golf Club in Chattanooga, Tenn. The 49ers added the event to their scheduled after losing a day of competitioin at the rain-shortened Brickyard Intercollegiate.

Charlotte 49ers senior Ryan Wilson (High Point, N.C.) was named the Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week, for the week ending Oct. 19 after leading the 49ers at the Brickyard Intercollegiate.

The Charlotte 49ers added a new tournament to their fall slate and former standouts Matt Mincer, Trevor Murphy and Jonas Enander Hedin performed well at this week's eGolf Professional Tour Championship in Southern Pines, N.C.

Rain has caused the cancellation of the third and final round at the Brickyard Collegiate, with final results reverting to the end of round two. Charlotte was tied for 10th at the end of two rounds with a 13-over par 589.

Seven Charlotte 49er student-athletes garnered Atlantic 10 weekly honors today. Women's cross country junior Amanda Goetschius, men's golf senior Corey Nagy, women's soccer senior Hailey Beam and men's soccer sophomore Evan James all picked up A-10 Player of the Week Honors. While, women's cross country freshman Maria Ruiz, volleyball's Bianca Rouse and men's soccer Jennings Rex all took Rookie of the Week honors.
