The Charlotte 49ers men's tennis program has signed Alex Weber to the 2010-2011 squad, head coach Jim Boykin announced today. Weber plays at West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, N.C.

Charlotte men's tennis coach Jim Boykin has added Ryan Reynolds as his assistant coach in time for the fall tournament season in 2009. Reynolds was a four-year letterwinner at Milligan and a former high school state doubles champion in Tennessee.

Every year, Diversity in Education honors student-athletes of ethnic origin and this year the Charlotte 49ers had 16 student-athletes from six sports honored on the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars list.

Charlotte 49ers tri-captain Moritz Bernhoerster was selected to the Men's Tennis first-team All-Atlantic 10 Conference squad, while teammate Michael Anders was named to the second team in voting conducted among the league's head coaches. Senior Brad Clinard was named to the academic all-league squad in a separate vote by the league's sports information directors.

Senior fifth-single Ricky Cuellar staged an impressive comeback and sophomore Chris Huynh clinched the 49ers 4-0 victory over Saint Joseph's at the Atlantic 10 Championships, Saturday. With the win, the 49ers advance to tomorrow's fifth-place match at 8:00 a.m. They will face either Temple or Duquesne.
